Personal Legislation

SB 61 ~ Museum Construction Grants

Senate Bill 61 establishes a matching grant program in the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development for eligible museum construction, expansion, and major renovation projects. Language in the bill is similar to the existing program for libraries.

SB 75 ~ PFD Contributions to Tribal Governments

Senate Bill 75 is straightforward legislation to allow federally recognized tribal governments to receive contributions from Permanent Fund Dividends (PFD) through the popular Pick.Click.Give. program.

SCR 1 ~ Legislative Task Force on Civics Education

SCR1 creates a task force to carefully examine and improve awareness of the importance of civics education in our state. What is the condition of civics education in Alaska? What are other states doing? Given Alaska's current budget climate, how can we improve our approach to civics education in Alaska without adding to the cost of delivering it? These are questions worth exploring.
