I am honored to represent the Kenai Peninsula in the Alaska State Senate. The priorities I’m focused on this Legislative session are fiscal stability, good roads, public safety and high-quality schools. Please contact me with your thoughts and ideas at (907) 283-7996 or sen.jesse.bjorkman@akleg.gov

Governor Dunleavy delivered an excellent State of the State speech this year. I agree with him. Alaska must be an attractive place where hard-working Alaskan families can successfully chase their dreams. I look forward to working with Governor Dunleavy to build a healthy and prosperous Alaska. I am thankful we share many of the same priorities.

Alaska’s current labor shortage has been frustrating for all of us, especially in our healthcare and service industries. A qualified workforce is crucial to Alaska’s future. The Labor and Commerce Committee, which I chair, is continuing to explore solutions that put Alaskans to work.

KPBSD Supt. Clayton Holland recently spoke to the Senate Education Committee about why it costs more to deliver education on the Kenai than in Anchorage and the lower 48. I am committed to improving workforce training and educational opportunities for our students.
