I am disappointed that the Governor has chosen to veto the education package that recently passed the Legislature 56-3. Investing in student learning is vital to our economy and the future of our kids. Timely BSA funding is vital to preserving education opportunities for all students. I am working diligently to ensure that Alaska’s Constitutional obligations of Education, Roads and Public safety are met.

Beautiful interpretations of birch trees by the students at Redoubt Elementary School are displayed this month as part of the Art in the Capitol program. I'm always impressed by the artistic talent of our Kenai Peninsula students and love to see their artwork here in the building.
