  • Senate Bill 98: Extend the board of veterinary examiners
  • National Sourdough Bread Day
  • Election Day in Anchorage

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Woof woof!

This week, my dad, Senator Claman, let me visit the Legislature. I got to sit in on his committees and learn about the Legislature. I also got lots of tummy scratches from friendly legislators and staff.

Today is also National Sourdough Bread Day. I am a dog, and I always like treats. And I think National Sourdough Bread Day is an important holiday for the humans to get treats, too!

Happy April 1st!

Senator Lucy visits the Legislature

Here's a photo of me on the Capitol steps. There were a lot of good smells here!

I testified in favor of House Bill 70, An Act relating to emergency medical services for operational canines, and Senate Bill 98, an Act to extend the board of veterinary examiners.

These are good bills that will help save the lives of dogs and other animals throughout Alaska. I am a passionate supporter of canine and animal rights!

Being a Senator is a big job. There were times I wanted to take a nap instead of pay attention. Thankfully, I made a lot of new friends who encouraged me to push through the day and work hard.

Finally, I want to wish everyone a Happy National Sourdough Bread Day. It is actually a real holiday, just like April Fool's.

Happy April 1st!

And it's the last day to vote in the Anchorage Municipal Election, please vote!

Sincerely,

Senator Lucy
