Spenard Corridor Plan Public Review Document Available
The Planning Department is seeking comment on the Public Hearing Draft of the Spenard Corridor Plan, dated January 2020. The plan document is on the project website at the link below.
Following an earlier review of the Public Review Draft through the AMATS Technical Advisory Committee, this review is the second chance to make comments on the Plan. This Public Hearing Draft culminates over two years of development and review with stakeholders like you along with input and direction from the AMATS Technical Advisory Committee. It incorporates many of your comments and recommendations from the Public Review Draft.
This Plan presents a long-term community vision and guides growth for the Spenard Corridor. It includes policies, investment strategies, design objectives, and implementation actions that support and sustain a strong relationship between land use and all modes of transportation.
AMATS and the Planning Department would like to hear your comments on this Public Hearing Draft. This review is the first of two opportunities to comment. The second opportunity is the Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearing scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. in the Assembly Chambers of the Z. J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali Street, Anchorage.
Recommendations and findings from the Commission review will be forwarded to the Assembly, which will hold a public hearing ahead of final action to adopt the Plan as an element of the Comprehensive Plan.
