Governor Signs Bill Strengthening Motor Vehicle Dealer License Requirements

Free Health Insurance Available for Alaskans Unemployed in 2021

If you received unemployment benefits during 2021 you are eligible for free health insurance through the end of the year!

The latest round of COVID relief, the American Rescue Plan Act, allows individuals who received or were approved to receive unemployment benefits to enroll in no-cost health insurance through healthcare.gov. There is also an option to increase your coverage using this subsidy if you are already enrolled in a plan through the Affordable Care Act. Enrollment opened on July 1 and will close on August 15, 2021. These benefits are not automatic and must be applied for.

Child Tax Credits

Eligible families can expect to receive Child Tax Credit ($250 to $300 per child per month) deposits or checks this Thursday, July 15. Visit childtaxcredit.gov for more information.

An evening of stories told by youth!

In collaboration with Arctic Entries, the Alaska Performing Arts Center, and the Anchorage Downtown Partnership, SAYiT (the Story Works Alaska Youth Team) is putting on a 45-minute storytelling show! Admission is free.
