Cargo Facility Development at the Ted Stevens International Airport

The airport has received a land lease application and publicly noticed a proposed cargo development in November 2020. The project is described below:

IC Alaska Airport LLC (on Raspberry Road between Tanaina Drive and Serenity Drive)

Public comments on the proposed IC Alaska Airport LLC project may be submitted in writing by January 15, 2021.

Special Sand Lake Community Council Meeting - Anchorage Airport Development

On Monday, the Sand Lake Community Council will be holding a special meeting on this project and will hear from IC Alaska.

Voucher Program to Support Anchorage Residents

This week, Acting Mayor Austin Quinn-Davidson announced applications are open for a program that will provide individuals living in the municipality with one-time vouchers for certain daily expenses such as groceries, diapers, medication, and gasoline.

Eligible applicants are residents of the Municipality of Anchorage who meet certain income limits or receive any of the following benefits: Alaska Temporary Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Food Stamps, Pandemic Food Stamps, Medicaid, Denali Kid Care, Social Security/Social Security Disability Insurance, or Unemployment Insurance.

Applications are open until 11:59 PM on December 13, and residents may apply online at www.muni.org/assistance. Translation assistance is available for those with limited English proficiency. Reminder: Deadline for Hospitality Businesses Relief

Last month, the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) began accepting applications for a second round of the Hospitality Business Relief Grant Program, Tier C. The Hospitality Businesses Relief Tier C Grant program round two will provide additional funds to qualifying hospitality businesses and is expanding the eligibility criteria to accommodate some hospitality business types that were excluded from round one. The Alaska Hospitality Retailers Association (AkHR) administers the Tier C program, which provides grants for small businesses such as cafés, caterers, quick service restaurants, snack bars, and all other non-liquor hospitality businesses.

Eligible businesses may apply online. The deadline to apply is Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 11:59 PM. Additional information about the Hospitality Business Relief Tier C grant program may be found in this FAQ document.
