Governor Dunleavy released his budget proposal on December 11, 2025. The plan projects approximately $15.3 billion in total state revenue, including close to $6.2 billion in unrestricted general funds. Over the weekend of October 11–12, the remnants of Typhoon Halong struck Western Alaska, severely impacting the coastal villages of Kipnuk and Kwigillingok. The storm displaced around 1,000 residents from their homes. Tragically, one person has been confirmed dead, and two others remain missing.

As a member of the Joint Legislative Council Committee, I attended the September 10 meeting where the council, acting on behalf of the Alaska Legislature when not in session, voted to authorize potential litigation against Governor Mike Dunleavy.

On August 2nd, I’ll be returning to Juneau to join my colleagues for a Special Session called by the Governor. The official agenda includes proposals to establish a Department of Agriculture and education reforms.

Governor Dunleavy used a line-item veto to cut $200 per student from the Base Student Allocation (BSA), a first in Alaska’s history. This decision comes despite bipartisan legislative support to increase education funding and stabilize Alaska’s public schools.

SB43 – Women’s History Month This bill aligns with the federal recognition of Women’s History Month by officially designating March as Women’s History Month in Alaska statute. It honors the countless contributions women have made to our state’s history and provides an opportunity for schools, community groups, and individuals to celebrate and highlight women’s achievements.
