We’re more than a month into the 2024 session, and things have already been rocking and rolling! Senate Finance is even meeting twice a day, which usually doesn’t happen until much later in session. 

I hope you all had a very enjoyable Labor Day weekend, celebrating the hard-working men & women that make Alaska a great place to live! Now that summer is winding down and the kids are back in school, I wanted to share what your District L office has been up to. And keep reading for

I’m pleased to report that the Legislature was able to pass a a balanced budget that funds essential services, like public safety and education; pays a reasonable dividend; and does not draw from savings or require new taxes. While it did take a one-day special session to complete, the result was a fiscally responsible budget,

It’s Day 60 here in the capitol, and we’re halfway through the Constitutional 120-day session. By most accounts, we’ll be done before then. 

For anyone who hasn’t followed me on Facebook, I regret that tonight’s Town Hall is cancelled.
