Friends & Neighbors in District L — 🎉 Yay! We did it! 🪩 We adjourned the first session of the 34th Legislature on the afternoon of May 20th, Legislative Day 120. With the price of oil on the decline and constant changes at the federal level, it was a year full of difficult budget decisions and very little money.

I’m pleased to report that the Legislature was able to pass a a balanced budget that funds essential services, like public safety and education; pays a reasonable dividend; and does not draw from savings or require new taxes. While it did take a one-day special session to complete, the result was a fiscally responsible budget,
