Friends & Neighbors in District L — In a frustrating series of events for everyone, we’re in special session again. The question isn’t whether to build a gasline – I haven’t talked to a single legislator opposed to a gasline – the question is who gives up what to get one.

Friends & Neighbors in District L — Both chambers of the Legislature were adjourned before 10pm on Day 121, May 20th. At that point, we’d already received the Governor’s call for a special session, which started on May 21st at 10am. I missed the start, having rushed to see my son graduate from High School. I

We did it! 🪩  We adjourned the first session of the 34th Legislature on the afternoon of May 20th, Legislative Day 120. With the price of oil on the decline and constant changes at the federal level, it was a year full of difficult budget decisions and very little money.

We’re more than a month into the 2024 session, and things have already been rocking and rolling! Senate Finance is even meeting twice a day, which usually doesn’t happen until much later in session.
