On Saturday the bells rang to call us into special session. The legislature completed just about all our work by the May deadline, but we didn’t get to turn in veto overrides early.

Anchorage, AK – The newly formed Task Force on Education Funding will hold an organizational meeting on August 25 in Anchorage. As part of the meeting, the Task Force will receive an in-depth briefing from the Division of Legislative Finance with the latest education funding numbers and data, including historical comparisons.

Anchorage, AK – On August 2, 2025, the Alaska Legislature will convene in Juneau for a special session called by Governor Mike Dunleavy. But while the Governor issued the call, he has also reportedly urged members not to attend, an apparent effort to block an override of his recent vetoes.
Dan started his career at UAF in 1993 and was hired in 1995 as a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In 2017, he was selected as Chancellor and after 30 years he is stepping down from at the end of the month. Chancellor White is unique as the national average for chancellors is four years and he stayed at our institution for eight years.
