The 33rd Alaska State Legislature has adjourned “sine die.” The two-year Legislature concluded with the passage of several bills that will benefit Alaskans, a capital budget that includes $98.2 million for the Kenai Peninsula, and a $1,655 dividend this year with the possibility of increased energy relief check next fall.

After passing the legislature 59-1, I’m thankful that my bill Senate Bill 93 was signed into law last week! This bill increases the limits on payouts for commercial fishing injuries and better ensures fishing crew members’ medical costs are covered.

I strongly support homeschool families’ ability to use State funded allotments to teach their kids in the way they feel is best. Many families use this funding for college classes, athletic sports, and arts education, all of which benefits our local businesses and vendors.
