JUNEAU, AK – On Sunday, the Alaska State Legislature passed Senate Bill 178, which expands access to the state’s Infant Learning Program (ILP) for children with developmental delays. The bill was sponsored by the Senate Health and Social Services Committee and championed by the Alaska Legislature’s Children’s Caucus.

NEWS: Expansion of Youth Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Resources Passes Alaska Legislature

Juneau, Alaska — Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 41, sponsored by Senator Elvi Gray-Jackson (D-Anchorage). Senate Bill 41 expands access to critical mental health resources, improves continuity of care for young Alaskans, and helps address Alaska’s persistently high suicide rates, especially in communities where access to services can be limited.

The final days to make your voice count.

The 34th Alaska Legislature is in the final 7 days before the scheduled end of session by the constitutional provision. The legislature can end early, vote to extend up to ten days, adjourn and call ourselves back in to a special session or adjourn at which time the Governor can call us back to a special session of his choosing. It is hard to say what will happen at this point in the process, but I know a lot of lawmakers and staff who temporarily live in Juneau will be evicted by the end of the month!
